DETROIT, Michigan - Mercy Primary Care Center celebrated its Special Personal Assistance (SPA) program on October 6th, 2007 at Synagogue Baptist Church hosting its 3rd Annual Gospel Concert. Ten acts entertained the crowd for over 3 hours. All proceeds from the event will assist the SPA Program in purchasing shoes and socks for its homeless clients.
A majority of the SPA program’s clients had suffered from frostbite while living in the cold harsh winter conditions of Detroit. Since the inception of the Gospel Concert, the SPA program has been able to distribute shoes and socks to all of its clients. “There has not been one case of frostbite with our client population, since the inception of this program” - Cheryl Hayes, Community Liaison.
