Dr. Margaret Meyers, Medical Director for the Mercy Primary Care Center in Detroit, has been honored with the University of Detroit Mercy Integrity Matters Award at a recent ceremony. In awarding Dr. Meyers with this honor, Kristin O'Neal, RN, MSN said, "Dr. Meyers has modeled the provision of high-quality, comprehensive, compassionate health care to the underserved with dedication, support and patience that seems unending."
Dr. Meyers is also a crucial asset to the University of Detroit Mercy McAuley Health Center since it opened at the end of 2002. Serving as the Center's collaborating physician for uninsured clients, she has donated countless hours providing primary health care to the uninsured and underinsured clients and in educating nursing students, recently graduated nursing staff and new nurse managers. "Dr. Meyers exemplifies the highest level of integrity," continued Ms. O'Neal. "She consistently demonstrates sound ethical personal and professional behavior. Furthermore, she willingly shares her time and expertise in ways that prepare and motivate future generations of health care professionals to practice with integrity."
The Integrity Award is presented by the UDM College of Health Professions (CHP) Honor Council to honor individuals that exemplify the tenets of personal and professional integrity. Dr. Meyers is the second person to be recognized with this honor.
